Welcome to Abaphathibemali

 Advances in Agronomy is a first-rate resource describing the latest research in agronomy. This prestigious serial contains major review articles dealing with the current topics of interest to agronomists, crop scientists and soil scientists. As always, the subjects covered are varied and exemplary of the myriad subject matter dealt with by this long-running serial.

Advance in Agronomy

The African Journal of Range & Forage Science is the leading rangeland and pastoral journal in Africa. The Journal is dedicated to publishing quality original material that advances rangeland ecology and pasture management. The journal aims to publish research of international importance from any region, but as an African journal, we are particularly interested in research from Africa and relevant to the continent.

The African Journal of Range & Forage Science

 The AGFACTS Used Tractor Price Guide was developed in response to requests to provide realistic values for used tractors in South Africa.   Intensive research into the used tractor market, conducted in conjunction with the South African Agricultural Machinery Association (SAAMA), individual tractor manufacturers, Response Group Trendline (retail sales statistics), and a wide range of retail outlets (co-operatives, branches, and dealers) throughout southern Africa, led to the publication of the ‘Blue Book’.

AGFACTS (Blue book)

Agricultural machinery products included in this publication:

  • Tractors: over 380 individual models from 21 manufacturers;
  • Combine Harvesters: PTO and self-propelled combine harvesters, wheat headers, pick-ups and maize snapperheads;
  • Hay and Forage Machinery: rectangular, ‘big’, and round balers, mowers, mower conditioners, fingerwheel and PTO-powered hayrakes and forage harvesters;
  • Implements: precision planters, seed drills, mounted and trailed fertilizer spreaders, mounted and trailed pressure sprayers, and mist blowers.

AGFACTS (Book white )

 The main objective of this initiative is to promote agricultural research and development. The journal will publish high quality original research papers and critical reviews on emerging fields and concepts for providing future directions. The publications will include both applied and basic research covering the following disciplines of agricultural sciences: Genetic resources, genetics and breeding, biotechnology, physiology, biochemistry, management of biotic and abiotic stresses, and nutrition of field crops, horticultural crops, livestock and fishes; agricultural meteorology, environmental sciences, forestry and agro forestry, agronomy, soils and soil management, microbiology, water management, agricultural engineering etc.

Agricultural Reseach

  Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems is devoted to the rapidly emerging fields of agroecology and food system sustainability. By linking scientific inquiry and productive practice with transformative social action, agroecology provides a foundation for developing the alternative food systems of the future. The journal focuses on the changes that need to occur in the design and management of our food systems in order tobalance natural resource use and environmental protection with the needs of production, economic viability, food security, and the social well-being of all people.

Agroecology And Sustainable Food Systems

  AJ publishes articles reporting research findings in soil–plant relationships; crop science; soil science; biometry; crop, soil, pasture, and range management; crop, forage, and pasture production and utilization; turfgrass; agroclimatology; agronomic models; integrated pest management; integrated agricultural systems; and various aspects of entomology, weed science, animal science, plant pathology, and agricultural economics as applied to production agriculture. Notes are published about apparatus, observations, and experimental techniques. Observations usually are limited to studies and reports of unrepeatable phenomena or other unique circumstances.

Research papers in Animal Production Science focus on improving livestock and food production, and on the social and economic issues that influence livestock production systems. Papers span traditional animal science to genomics and precision agriculture and examine the societal role of animal agriculture in the provision of a healthy human diet and a sustainable environment. The journal is predominantly concerned with domesticated livestock (beef cattle, dairy cows, sheep, pigs, goats and poultry); however, contributions on horses, deer and fish will be considered where relevant.

Animal Production Science

 is an international journal publishing outcomes of strategic research in crop and pasture sciences and the sustainability of farming systems. The primary focus is broad-scale cereals, grain legumes, oilseeds and pastures. Articles are encouraged that advance understanding in plant-based agricultural systems using well-defined and original aims designed to test a hypothesis, innovative and rigorous experimental design, and strong interpretation. The journal embraces experimental approaches from molecular level to whole systems, and the research must present novel findings and progress the science of agriculture.

Crop & Pasture Science

With a focus on the tropical and sub-tropical regions of the world, Experimental Agriculture publishes the results of original research on field, plantation and herbage crops grown for food or feed, or for industrial purposes, and on farming systems, including livestock and people. It reports experimental work designed to explain how crops respond to the environment in biological and physical terms, and on the social and economic issues that may influence the uptake of the results of research by policy makers and farmers, including the role of institutions and partnerships in delivering impact. The journal also publishes accounts and critical discussions of new quantitative and qualitative methods in agricultural and ecosystems research, and of contemporary issues arising in countries where agricultural production needs to develop rapidly. .

  Development Southern Africa (DSA) is an internationally accredited, multi-disciplinary journal focusing on development policy and practice in the southern Africa region. It remains the southern Africa journal of choice for several disciplines (economics, sociology, agricultural economics, development studies, political science, amongst others), and it publishes articles in respect of the key development issues in the region. These include poverty, unemployment, tourism, agriculture, business development, infrastructure development and other related development themes.

Development Southern Africa

 Crop Science is an international journal publishing significant scientific advances in crop science. Reviews, interpretive articles, and original research on any aspect of crop science, including agronomy, physiology, and genetics are welcomed. Crop Science is the flagship publication of the Crop Science Society of America.

Crop Science

Grass and Forage Science publishes the results of research and development in all aspects of grass and forage production, management and utilization, reviews of the state of knowledge on relevant topics and book reviews. Authors are also invited to submit papers on non-agricultural aspects of grassland management such as bioenergy, equine, recreational and amenity use and the environmental implications of all grassland systems. The Journal considers papers from all climatic zones. Originality is required in papers submitted for publication, but this does not preclude the publication of material of a developmental nature.

Grass and Forage Science

  HortScience is a peer-reviewed open access science journal published by ASHS. The primary mission is to publish accurate, clear, reproducible, and unbiased articles in the field of applied horticultural research. HortScience seeks to advance selected papers in horticultural research derived from original efforts in design, engineering, exploration, and preliminary testing of new methods, processes, products, protocols, techniques, and technologies formulated with the primary goal of solving a problem.

The Journal of Dairy Research is an international Journal of high-standing that publishes original scientific research on all aspects of the biology, wellbeing and technology of lactating animals and the foods they produce. The Journal’s ability to cover the entire dairy foods chain is a major strength. Cross-disciplinary research is particularly welcomed, as is comparative lactation research in different dairy and non-dairy species and research dealing with consumer health aspects of dairy products. Journal of Dairy Research: an international Journal of the lactation sciences.

 This study evaluated the potential effects of a second iron injection given to suckling pigs on growth, blood, and fecal parameters of pigs fed nursery diets with different dietary iron levels. The results showed that the second iron injection given at 7 to 8 d of age could enhance hemoglobin status and postweaning growth performance of pigs and alter fecal bacterial community, while dietary iron levels had no effect on growth performance.

Journal of Animal Science

The Journal of Horticultural Science and Biotechnology is an international, ranked, peer-reviewed journal, which publishes original research contributions into the production, improvement and utilisation of horticultural crops. It aims to provide scientific knowledge of interest to those engaged in scientific research and the practice of horticulture. The scope of the journal includes studies on fruit and other perennial crops, vegetables and ornamentals grown in temperate or tropical regions and their use in commercial, amenity or urban horticulture.
